Gang members arrested in Scottsdale armed robbery

On January 29, 2015 at 11:30 p.m., two male subjects in their 20’s were standing in the parking lot of the Sam’s Liquor at 8770 E. McDowell. A white Chevrolet Tahoe pulled into the parking lot and three men got out and approached the first two men.

The man, Alvin Leon Miguel, age 28, pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the two victims and demanded their money. Miguel’s accomplices, Nehemiah Hill (12/9/83) and Adrian Hill (10/31/87), stood by as Miguel robbed both victims of their money. Miguel struck the 2nd victim in the head with his pistol when he did not produce his wallet fast enough. All three suspects then re-entered the Chevy Tahoe and the Tahoe pulled into the drive-thru of the liquor store.

Two Scottsdale patrol cars happened be to driving by at the same time. The victims flagged down the passing police cars and told them about the armed robbery.

The officers conducted a “high risk stop” on the Chevrolet Tahoe. Miguel exited the vehicle from the rear passenger seat and fled the scene armed with the handgun. While running away, he threw the handgun on the roof of the business. The remaining suspects were taken into custody without incident. Responding officers established a perimeter and Miguel was later found hiding behind a business approximately ¼ miles away. Miguel was taken into custody without incident. The handgun was recovered from the roof of the business.

The suspects are being charged with Armed Robbery, Threats, and Assisting a Street Gang.
