Oro Valley resident pleads guilty to a murder for hire plot

In August 2013, Theresa White, age 51, became the subject of an Oro Valley Police Department investigation into a murder for hire plot. Police learned that White made statements to a former family member that she wanted a relative of hers killed.

An investigation began and in September 2013, White made a payment to an undercover officer to kill her relative. On September 13, 2013, White was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center for one count of conspiracy to commit first degree murder.

White remained in the Pima County Adult Detention center awaiting trial. On January 6, 2015, White accepted a plea agreement to serve seven years in prison for one count of conspiracy to commit first degree murder.
