The suspects, identified as Dylan Gundry, age 19, and Bryce Fleming, age 17, were questioned by Arpaio’s animal crimes detectives and both admitted to shooting the horse a number of times each. The horse suffered through the night before being found and was euthanized the following morning.
The suspects are local area residents. They are suspected in being involved in other crimes including burglary and trafficking stolen property. They have been booked into the sheriff’s downtown jail on multiple felony charges.
“This crime spree started with burglaries and stolen property and quickly escalated to the shooting of a horse, what was next humans”? Arpaio says
Some questioned whether Tuesday’s horse shooting was linked to another attack on a horse in Rio Verde last year but that his detectives’ investigation indicates the two cases are not, in fact, related.
