On Sunday, April 12, 2015, a DPS officer arrested a man during a traffic stop after discovering 55 bundles of methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
The officer originally stopped a vehicle just after 12:00 p.m. for a traffic violation along I-10 near Casa Grande. During a search of the vehicle, the officer found two garbage bags containing the 55 bundles on the vehicle’s rear seat. The bundles weighed a total of 43 pounds.
The investigation was referred to the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. Detectives estimate that quantity of methamphetamine to have a street value of around $160,000.
