Police shoot Bisbee man in parking lot dispute

On Wednesday April 22, 2015 at approximately 8:49 am a Bisbee resident came into the Bisbee Police Department and advised that a man she could name approached her when she parked at the Bisbee Safeway parking lot. The woman advised that the man became aggressive towards her and began banging on the windows and hitting her car, reportedly over a parking issue.

An officer was at the Police Department at the time of the incident and responded with a second Officer who was on duty in an attempt to locate the male subject.

Shortly after contact was made with the suspect in the area behind the Safeway, the Officer advised that the mane was being disorderly, was armed, and shots had been fired.

The Officer identified in this incident is 17 year veteran Sergeant Robert Coronado, and he has been placed on paid administrative leave per policy pending the outcome of the investigation.

The 51 year old suspect has been identified as Carlos Saavedra Ramirez of Bisbee.

The investigation is being continued by the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Sierra Vista Police Department, while the Bisbee Police Department will also be conducting a parallel investigation.
