Tucson tops Portland and other major U.S. cities when it comes to the number of people using utilitarian cargo bikes. The website PeopleForBikes.com surveyed a selection of the country’s best bicycling cities to see which is best for everyday biking.
The website refers to Tucson as “the longstanding biking capital of the American Southwest,” but makes no mention of the fact that Tucson is the 5th poorest metropolitan area in the country and many of its homeless use grocery carts instead of cargo bikes to haul their belongings.
