On May 7, 2015 officers from the Flagstaff Police Department, the Department of Public Safety and Coconino County Sheriff’s office as well as other surrounding agencies gathered in front of the Law Enforcement Facility at 911 Sawmill to unveil the engraving of Officer Tyler J. Stewart who was killed in the line of duty on December 27, 2014.
Remembered were all the Officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty serving Northern Arizona Area from the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Flagstaff Police Department. Inscriptions were as follows:
• July 17, 1908 – Escapulo Dominguez, Coconino County Sheriff’s Office
• September 6, 1982 – John B Jamison, Coconino County Sheriff’s Office
• May 25, 1983 – James Michael Young, Coconino County Sheriff’s Office
• June 21, 2000 – Jeff Adam Moritz, Flagstaff Police Department
• December 27, 2014 – Tyler J. Stewart, Flagstaff Police Department
Community members adjoined themselves with attending Law Enforcement Officers in recognizing a moment of silence in appreciation of the ultimate sacrifice these officers gave in preserving and protecting our citizens.
