Echo Canyon Hiker Rescued By CCSR

On Monday May 25, 2015 at approximately 3:45 pm, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a hiker who needed help in the Chiricahua National Monument.

The hiker was reportedly in Echo Canyon when he became extremely dehydrated and suffered from heat exhaustion.

The DPS Ranger helicopter did not have enough personnel to carry the subject out and contacted Cochise County Search and Rescue for assistance.

The hiker was safely brought out of the canyon and checked for medical issues with no serious conditions or injuries.
