On Fri., May 29, 2015, Arizona Registrar of Contractors (AZROC) issued citations on and summarily suspended three contracting licenses held between Camelback Pools doing business as Paddock Pools and RIG Constructions doing business as Cameo Pools, both based out of the Phoenix-area.
On Friday, the AZ ROC Chief of Compliance signed two orders of summary suspension on licenses assigned to Camelback Pools and RIG Construction and filed two citations alleging a combined 24 counts of violations of Title 32, Chapter 10 of the Arizona Revised Statutes.
According to the summary suspension orders, the Registrar finds that the public health, safety and welfare imperatively required emergency action on the part of the Registrar. Being suspended, these licensees are prohibited from engaging in contracting work, except for any previously contracted-work the Registrar directs they complete.
For Camelback Pools, the suspension order states eight unresolved and substantiated abandonment complaints were filed within the last two months, with the AZ ROC investigating another 20 complaints filed within the last 40-days.
The citation filed against Camelback Pools with the Arizona Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) involves eight complainants and alleges eight counts of abandonment, four counts of failing to perform all work in a professional manner and four counts of failing to take appropriate corrective action as required by Registrar’s Directive.
Regarding RIG Construction, the suspension order states four unresolved and substantiated abandonment complaints were filed within the last two months, with the AZ ROC investigating another four complaints filed within the last 40-days.
The citation filed against RIG Construction, Inc. involves four complainants and alleges four counts of abandonment and four counts of failing to take appropriate corrective action as required by Registrar’s Directive.
Suspended as of Friday afternoon, Camelback Pool’s licenses include license numbers 282166, which is a A-9 Swimming Pools, Commercial License and 279068, which is a B-5 General Swimming Pool Contractor, Residential License. RIG Construction, Inc.’s license number is 201189 and is a KA-5, Dual (Commercial and Residential) Swimming Pool Contractor License.
A hearing regarding the order and citations has been scheduled with OAH for June 19, 2015.
