Spray Paint Gun vs. Implied Gun

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public for help with the identification of two suspects. The incident occurred on May 8, 2015, at approximately 10:51 AM at the Leading Edge Auto Supply store at 3119 E. Lincoln Street.

The store representative spoke to two men and showed them a paint sprayer. When he momentarily turned away from the men, they took the sprayer and ran out of the store.

Staff chased after the suspects who ran to a grey 2001 Mitsubishi Galant. As staff members approached the car, a third suspect emerged from the vehicle and implied a weapon in his waistband.

The store employees returned to the store and called 9-1-1.

The suspects were described as follows:

1) Caucasian man in his mid to late twenties:

  • approximately 5’8” tall,
  • weighing approximately 160 pounds.
  • clean shaven with short hair and was last seen
  • wearing a pink button up shirt and khaki slacks.

2) Caucasian man in his

  • mid to late twenties,
  • approximately 6’00” tall and
  • weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was also
  • clean shaven with short hair and was last seen
  • wearing a light blue button up shirt and khaki slacks.

3) Younger Hispanic man

  • wearing a white tank top shirt and a black ball cap.

The stolen item – a One Jet spray paint gun (Model #SATAJET 500B) – was valued at over $800.00.

Anyone with information on the identity and/or whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call 9-1- 1 or 88-CRIME.
