The Salvation Army Deploys Four Hydration Stations

Hydration Stations across the Valley will provide water, sunscreen, and other relief services.

In response to the extreme heat advisory, The Salvation Army will  open four Hydration Stations tomorrow to provide heat relief services from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hydration stations are open any day a heat advisory is declared. Location will provide chilled bottled water and safety information to individuals in or potentially in distress due to the heat.  In addition, any Salvation Army center will be provide water for those who need it.

Hydration Stations are located at:

Street locations:
o        SW corner 16th St. and Jefferson (East Lake Park)
o        NE corner 3rd Ave. and Fillmore
o        SW Corner of 5th St. and Hatcher
o        35th Ave. and Roosevelt ( Falcon Park)

The Salvation Army Corps Locations:
o        Phoenix Central Corps: 4343 N. 16th St., Phoenix, 85016
o        Phoenix Maryvale Corps: 4318 W. Clarendon Ave., Phoenix, 85031
o        Glendale Corps: 6010 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, 85301
o        Chandler Corps: 85 E. Saragosa St., Chandler, 85225
o        Mesa Corps: 241 E. 6th St., Mesa, 85201
o        Tempe Corps: 40 E. University Dr., Tempe, 85281

The hydration stations are staffed by volunteers. The Salvation Army is still in need for volunteers for two hour shifts. Please call Danielle Shankle at 602-267-4117 or visit phoenixsa.volunteersfirst.org to volunteer.

The Salvation Army will be collecting bottled water (8-16.9 oz.) throughout the summer. Individuals interested in donating can deliver water to 2707 E. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ 85008 or drop off at any Safeway location. Please call Abby Rolfs at 602- 267-4170 for more information.
