Sheriff Dupnik has finally authorized the department to ask for public assistance one month after the crime was committed.
On May 21, 2015, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Foothills District deputies responded to Zales Jewelers located at 7401 North La Cholla Boulevard (Foothills Mall), reference a theft. When deputies arrived, they learned a man took a pair of earrings valued over $8,500.00 without paying.
According to the store manager, the suspect entered the store and looked at men’s watches and rings before asking to see the earrings. When the earrings were placed on the counter, the suspect grabbed them and ran from the store towards the northeast exit.
The suspect is described as:
• African-American male
• Approximately 30 years of age
• 5’11” tall
• Wearing a dark colored long sleeved shirt, dark colored pants, a tan sweater
vest, and a Fedora style hat
