DPS Troopers Arrest Child Molestation Suspect

On Friday, July 10, 2015, at about 10:15 a.m., dispatchers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety (ADPS) received information from detectives with the Avondale Police Department about a suspect in a child molestation case. That suspect, Joshua Warner, 29, from Phoenix, Arizona, may have been attempting to leave Arizona.

Dispatchers broadcasted an “attempt to locate” to troopers that were out on patrol. The troopers were told to look for a Chrysler van with front-end damage.

At about 10:23 a.m., troopers observed a vehicle eastbound on Interstate 10 in the Casa Grande area that matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle. Troopers stopped the vehicle at milepost 203 on eastbound Interstate 10 and took Joshua Warner into custody without incident. Items of evidence were found inside of Warner’s vehicle.

The suspect, along with the evidence, were turned over to detectives from the Avondale Police Department.

This case demonstrates the value of positive working relationships between law enforcement agencies to take criminals off our roads and out of our communities.
