Monday July 20, 2015 officers from Tucson Police Department and members of the Mental Health Services Team Unit, along with representatives from Pima County Sheriffs Department, La Frontera, Old Pueblo Community Services and La Primavera, conducted anoutreach program to the homeless patrons located at Santa Rita Park on the corner of 22nd Street and 4th Ave.
The outreach program was designed to make face to face contact with many of the homeless park patrons and share with them information about the available community resources in their area. Approximately 100 people were present at the event and were provided with information including: localized housing, job identification, mental health care, and hygiene products.
