TPD Homicide Investigation 38 W Prince Road

The Tucson Police Department is investigating a late night shooting that resulted in the death of an adult male on the northwest side of town.

On July 31, 2015, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers from Operations Division West responded to 38 West Prince Road to check the welfare of a male who was lying in the parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers located the male who had obvious signs of gunshot trauma. The officers immediately began rendering first-aid to the victim, along with members of the Tucson Fire Department. Shortly after their arrival, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene.

Detectives responded to continue the investigation. At this time, there is no suspect in custody. Specific details are being withheld while they attempt to locate other witnesses believed to be at the scene when the shooting took place.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Richard Fries. Next of kin has been notified.
