Victim In Glendale Nightclub Shooting Identified

On Saturday, August 8, 2015, just after 2:30 a.m., the Glendale Police Department received a 911 call reporting a shooting at a nightclub near 5000 W. Northern Avenue. Upon arrival, Glendale Police Officers located an injured person inside of the bar.

A short time later, a second injured person was located a few blocks away from the club. Inside of the bar, 27 year old Manuel Ardite of Phoenix, had been shot. He was treated by Glendale Fire and pronounced deceased on-scene. The second person, a male in his 40’s, was transported with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The initial investigation revealed that some sort of argument had taken place between Ardite and the other male. A club employee attempted to intervene and stop the argument when Ardite produced a handgun and began shooting. A contracted security guard, Anthony Hermanowicz, observed this taking place and shot Ardite. Glendale Violent Crimes Detectives responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation.
