Teen Walks To Casa Grande Police After Fatal Collision

On August 31, 2015 at 2:20 p.m., a 15 year old walked into the front lobby of the Casa Grande Public Safety Facility to report he was involved in a vehicle collision in the desert east of the station. Police responded immediately and discovered a white 2007 Ford pickup truck in a ditch next to Trekell Road approximately one mile south of Val Vista Boulevard.

Officers discovered one of the occupants, a 20 year old female, deceased next to the truck. The third occupant, a 26 year old male, was located walking in the Villago subdivision just west of the scene. The truck was found to be reported as stolen out of Maricopa.

The juvenile who entered the Public Safety lobby was able to relay information to Officers describing the other two occupants, matching the discoveries made by Officers at the scene of the collision and in the Villago Subdivision. The juvenile had significant injuries and was flown to a Phoenix area hospital. The adult male found in Villago also had significant injuries and was flown to a Phoenix area hospital. At this time, the extent of their injuries is unknown.

The scene was closed for several hours as our Critical Accident Investigation Team (CAIT) completed their investigation. This roadway is a dirt road and not suitable for high speeds. Investigators believe speed and lack of seatbelt use were contributing factors in this collision.

Police say that it is unclear at this time who was driving the vehicle and if any charges will be filed.
