Pima Sheriff, DEA Disrupts Drug Trafficking Organization

On September 2, 2015, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Major Investigations Unit in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration, served three search warrants as part of a long term investigation into a drug trafficking organization.

The warrants were served at the following locations:

  • A residence in the 900 block of West Calle Milu in Tucson
  • A resisence in the 800 block of Villa Rosamorada in Rio Rico
  •  A residence in the 600 block of North Sierra in Nogales

Detectives obtained documents, weapons, narcotics, and arrested two people during the warrant service. They are identified as 35-year-old Gildardo Vallez and 38-year-old Carmen Gil, both of Tucson. Mr. Vallez was arrested for Possession of Narcotics, Fraudulent Scheme/Artifices, and Money Laundering. Ms. Gill was arrested for Fraudulent Scheme/Artifices and Forgery. Both were transported to the Pima County Adult Detention Complex and booked on their charges.

The Pima County Regional SWAT Team served the warrant in Tucson, while the Department of Public Safety’s SWAT Team served the warrants in Rio Rico and Nogales. The investigation continues.
