Cochise County Rescuers Looking For Tucson Man

Cochise County Search and Rescue began a search shortly after 7:00 am on Monday morning for 69 year old Laurence Kosden, of Tucson.

On Sunday September 20, 2015 at approximately 4:30 p.m. the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was advised of an abandoned vehicle in Rustler Park near Portal. The caller advised that the vehicle was in a camping space but there had not been anyone around it for several days and when he checked the interior he noticed some animal food and a camping mattress along with a park pass which was issued on the 13th and was valid for two days.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area and located the 2015 Mazda parked in the camping space. Upon checking the license plate, it was discovered that the registered owner, Mr. Kosden, was listed as a missing person by Tucson Police Department with a last known contact date of September 14, 2015. Deputies then made contact with a woman who was also camping in the area and she told them that she observed a male subject hiking on one of the trails with his cat several days ago, but she has not seen him since.

Searchers remain in the area.
