Pima County Car Thief Caught On Camera

Pima County detectives are asking the public for help with an ongoing investigation. On September 17, 2015, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the Sheriff’s Department received a report of a stolen vehicle from an apartment complex in the 900 block of Orange Grove Road. The victim called about their missing black 2004 Acura FX4 SUV.

The vehicle was located by Border Patrol Agents on September, 19, 2015, in the area of Marley Ranch Road and Boyd Ranch Road in Amado. The SUV was vandalized and had paint poured all over the interior and exterior.

Detectives found the vehicle had been photographed by a traffic enforcement camera at the intersection of E. Grant Road and N. Swan Road on the day of the theft. The car had passed through the intersection at 2:39 AM according to data recorded by the camera.

The driver of the stolen vehicle was described as male in his twenties, possibly Hispanic, with dark hair.

Anyone with information on the identity and/or whereabouts of the suspect is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
