The Arizona State Hospital has been notified that it is now accredited for all hospital services through October 2017. The acknowledgement confirms the state hospital is meeting a standard above and beyond general patient care, according to Dr. Cara M. Christ, the Director for the Arizona Department of Health Services.
“The Joint Commission accredits and certifies health care organizations in the United States. Accreditation from this non-profit organization demonstrates our team of clinical and administrative staff provides safe, high quality care for the patients we serve,” wrote Christ on the ADHS website.
Last month the hospital received restoration of its status as a provider of hospital services following a recent inspection from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The announcement followed a three month intensive reform effort.
