Pima County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death of a 26-year-old man, Gerardo Camacho, who was found shot inside a car. His friend drove up to a Circle K convenience store located at 9810 S. Nogales Highway and reported the crime.
On Monday, at approximately 2:42 AM, deputies responded to the Circle K at 9810 S. Nogales Highway. It was reported a man came running into the store and said his friend had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies found an adult male deceased inside of a vehicle parked in front of the store. Detectives with the Homicide Unit responded and took over the investigation. Multiple witnesses were identified and questioned.
Camacho was initially shot in South Tucson near 3rd Avenue and 33rd Street. At around 2:00 a.m. On October 19, 2015, it is belived that he was shot by someone in a black passenger car displaying emergency lights like those used in unmarked law enforcement vehicles.
The investigation is still ongoing and detectives are urging anyone with information on the incident to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
