UofA Dean Of Pharmacy Arrested For Sexual Assault

Pima County detectives brought to conclusion an investigation of sexual assault allegations against Jessie Lyle Bootman, UofA Dean of the College of Pharmacy. The incident occurred on October 2, 2015. The victim is an adult female.

Detectives learned the victim was sexually assaulted in the University of Arizona professor’s home. The next morning the victim awoke with multiple injuries, some indicative of sexual assault.

Detectives served a search warrant at Bootman’s residence and found incriminating evidence. Combined with the victim’s statements, results of the victim’s medical examination, and additional evidence, detectives had developed the means to present the case to the County Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Bootman was formally indicted by a grand jury and arraigned in court today. He was charged with Sexual Assault, Sexual Abuse, and Aggravated Assault.
