The detectives are continuing their investigation into this incident. They spoke with the parties involved along with additional witnesses.
On November 13, 2015, around 7:15 p.m., officers from Operations Division East responded to a reported fight in the 7600 block of East Apple Tree Drive. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult female on the ground in front of a residence. Officers immediately performed CPR and summoned paramedics. Members from the Tucson Fire Department arrived on scene a short time later. The female was transported to Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
Thr investigatiom has revealed that the female had a prior relationship with a male who lived at the residence and had been contacting him. The male was in a new relationship. On November 13, 2015 the female drove to the male’s residence and engaged in a physical fight outside with one of the occupants. The female eventually became unresponsive and the occupants called 911.
The detectives are continuing this investigation and once the investigation is complete, the case will be presented to the Pima County Attorney’s Office for review.
The female has been identified as 47-year-old Gonekie Tatum. Next of kin have been notified. Detectives are asking anyone with information to please call 88-CRIME
