To encourage young people to write the Arizona Daily Independent has encouraged some young students (9 to 14) to submit something that they learned about in school and write about it including their formatting. Below is our first we hope you enjoy these. Please help to spread the word.

Once upon a time there was a pig named Gloria. Gloria was a very large pig but she liked that. Gloria always wanted to be a spelunker. But little did she know, that was a very bad life choice.
One day, Gloria got a job as an intern at Olivetaian Cave. She worked there for a year, and never stopped liking it.
One day, while she was spelunking and texting (which you should never do), she heard a rumble. She just ate, so it was not her tummy. She decided to go tell The boss.
“The cave was rumbling!” she yelled.
“Oh .” the Boss said.
Two Days Later……
“Ummmm… It turns out the cave is alive and it doesn’t like pigs .” The Boss said.
That did not stop Gloria from Spelunking. That was also a very bad life choice.
************
“AAAAAHHHHHH!!!” Gloria screamed.
The cave was getting hot. Very hot. Gloria started to feel hot. She was getting fried! Suddenly, she exploded! Bacon flew everywhere! The bacon stuck to the wall, creating cave bacon.
THAT IS THE STORY OF HOW CAVE BACON EVOLVED!!
