Expect Delays On I-10 Near Benson

Paving on westbound I-10 returns to Benson area and delays can be expected Paving operations on westbound Interstate 10 east of Tucson have moved back to the Benson area, where paving work will continue through the middle of next week.

Motorists traveling west on I-10 between Benson and Tucson should plan for delays in the morning and afternoon, during peak traffic hours. Morning delays are approximately 15-20 minutes, while afternoon delays can be as long as an hour.

The paving work will be done from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. weekdays through Wednesday (Dec. 23). No paving work is scheduled for Thursday (Dec. 24) or on Christmas Day.
Paving will resume on Monday (Dec. 28) and run through Wednesday (Dec. 30) before taking a break for the New Year holiday.

The work is part of a $15.1 million project to repave approximately 17 miles of I-10 in both directions and replace the westbound I-10 bridge at Davidson Canyon, located 20 miles east of Tucson.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
