On Monday December 21, 2015 Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels picked up 5 year old Anthony Rubio from his home in Sierra Vista to be a Special Deputy.
Anthony Rubio is ill and undergoing treatment and he had a wish to be a Deputy for a Day.
Deputy Anthony met with Chief Adam Thrasher of the Sierra Vista Police Department as well as other members of the Police Department, and Mayor of Sierra Vista Rick Mueller, City Manager Chuck Putucek, Cochise County Administrator Jim Vlahovich, and Cochise County Board of Supervisor Pat Call.
Anthony then came to the Sheriff’s Office and met with the Sheriff Department staff, getting sworn in by Judge Ambrose and Sheriff Dannels before going to lunch and being taken home again.
Sheriff Dannels said “we had a great time today and we hope that everyone can remember to take a moment and say a prayer for Anthony and his successful recovery!”
