Levi J. Parker has been identified as the father, who killed his two young daughters, Haylee and Mackenzie on Wednesday night. He died as a result of a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
Just before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Pima County deputies responded to the Veranda at Ventana Condominiums at 5751 N. Kolb Road, in reference to a check welfare call. A mother called 911 and said she received a threatening phone call from her estranged husband who had their two daughters with him.
Deputies arrived on scene and attempted to talk to a male inside the residence from outside the front door. Soon after, deputies heard one gun shot and they forced entry into the home. Inside, they found the father and two daughters, all with gun shot wounds. Deputies immediately began life-saving measures.
The five-year-old girl, was transported to Banner University Medical Center, but succumed to her injuries, and was pronounced deceased. The seven-year-old girl was pronounced deceased at the scene. The father was also transported to the hospital.
Parker, an employee at Raytheon, served in the Arizona Army National Guard.
