The Casa Grande Arts & Humanities Commission has announced the 2016 Ten-Minute Play Contest and the 2016 Casa Grande Plein Air Painting Event.
The Ten-Minute Play Contest, which will culminate in a full production in the spring of 2016, is a competition open to full and part time Arizona residents. The Commission will only accept original plays, never before produced plays are eligible. Each play may have no more than three characters and may have only one setting with minimal props and costumes. Plays with multiple settings and/or scene changes will be disqualified. The play, exclusive of title and cast pages, may be no more than ten pages. Script submission should include play submission form, play title sheet, playwright agreement, one (1) copy of the play and a $10.00 entry fee. The deadline for submitting the entry is February 1, 2016.
The Casa Grande Plein Air Painting Event is scheduled for February 13, 2016, and is open to any artist who paints using the Plein Air technique in oil, watercolor, acrylic, or pastel. Plein Air (open air) paintings are executed outdoors from real life, as opposed to being painted from photographs in a studio.
