GLENDALE, Ariz. – On Friday, January 1, 2016, just after 5:30pm, the Glendale Police Department responded to an unknown trouble call near 59th Avenue and Missouri. The male caller stated that he had been tied up and robbed at a nearby apartment. Officers quickly located him and were able to determine that he was not injured.
The victim advised officers and detectives that he met a woman via Facebook sometime on Wednesday. Thursday he drove up from southern Arizona to meet her and stayed overnight at an apartment with her near 5700 N. 59th Avenue. Friday afternoon, three male suspects entered the apartment with handguns and threatened him. The suspects took his wallet, phone and truck after restraining him in the apartment. After several hours he was able to free himself, flee and call police. The truck taken was a red 2013 Dodge Ram, AZ/BBM5032.
The female’s whereabouts and involvement in the incident are unknown. Numerous attempts to contact and locate her have been unsuccessful. Her vehicle was located early this morning but was unoccupied. At this time, she is considered an endangered missing person until her well-being can be established. The female is 23-year old Maria Iraceli Ochoa-Garcia, a Glendale resident (a recent photo is attached). Maria is a Hispanic female approximately 4-feet 9-inches tall, weighs 130 pounds with brown eyes and dyed, blonde hair.
Maria has been located and is safe. We’ve been able to verify that she was not involved in this incident in any way and was not the woman that the victim met online. Detectives are now meeting up with her so that they may interview her and find out who the woman at her apartment was.
The Glendale Police Department is continuing to investigate. We ask that anyone that has information related to the incident, call Glendale Police at (623)930-3000 or Silent Witness at (480)WITNESS.
