Sierra Vista Man Arrested On 14 Felonies Following Pursuit

The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested a Sierra Vista man, 26-year-old Brian Russell-Quint, on 14 felony charges following a vehicle pursuit on Monday night.

An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a blue Buick four-door sedan near the intersection of Highway 90 and Highway 92 at about 10:49 p.m. Russell-Quint, refused to stop and officers pursued him until he exited his vehicle while it was still moving, causing it to strike an occupied home on the 2600 block of Quail Run Drive.

Officers pursued Russell-Quint on foot with the assistance of deputies from the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, locating him in a nearby alleyway. Russell-Quint was in possession of a firearm and multiple large knives. While in pursuit, officers observed that a backpack was thrown out of the vehicle and multiple narcotics and pieces of drug paraphernalia were found in the backpack, revealing evidence of drug sales.

Russell-Quint faces 14 felonies including four charges of endangerment and multiple charges of felony flight, prohibited possession of a firearm, possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a narcotic drug for sale, and possession of marijuana. Russell-Quint previously led SVPD officers on a vehicle pursuit on Oct. 18, 2015. Charges from that incident include obstruction of government operations, unlawful flight from police, resisting arrest, and tampering with evidence. He is being held in Cochise County Jail on a $200,000 bond tied to Monday’s arrest and a $25,000 bond tied to the incident in October.
