Over the course of the last 36 hours, the Surprise Police Department has apprehended two suspects in connection to the February 9, homicide that occurred at a residence in the area of 15500 West Agua Linda Lane, in Surprise.
During the incident inside of Mrs. Barbara Leslie’s home, the 70 year old resident of Surprise, and Mrs. Ruth Schwed, a 75 year old resident of Albuquerque, NM, were shot and killed.
On Friday, February 19, 2016, the Surprise Police apprehended Andrew Thomas Lauro, a 24 year old man from Goodyear, AZ, for his involvement in the recent murders. Additionally, since Andrew Lauro’s arrest, the investigators have travelled to Michigan, located, and arrested a second suspect, Montez Lavell Wright III, a 23 year old man from Southfield, Michigan.
Andrew Lauro has been booked into the Maricopa County 4th Avenue Jail for two counts of First Degree Murder, two counts of Armed Robbery, and one count of First Degree Burglary.
Montez Wright is currently in-custody in Michigan and awaiting extradition back to the State of Arizona where he is also facing two counts of First Degree Murder, two counts of Armed Robbery, and one count of First Degree Burglary.
