On Friday February 26 th, 2016 at approximately 3:20 pm, Sierra Vista Police Department officers were dispatched to the Vista de la Sierra apartment complex on Busby Drive in reference to a shots fired call.
Upon arrival officers found a man who was deceased from what appreared to be significant wounds and the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was requested for assistance with both ground units and air support from Geronimo to search for a suspect.
Officers arriving on the scene requested that the Joyce Clark Middle School be placed on a short lockdown as a safety precaution due to the proximity to the crime scene.
Once officers determined the area was safe, the lockdown was lifted.
A search in the field near the apartments and school resulted in one male subject being arrested and booked into the Cochise County Jail on charges of first degree murder, and second degree murder.
Suspect has been identified as 26 year old Carlos Robles from Hereford.
