On March 23, 2016, a warrant sweep operation in the Verde Valley with several law enforcement teams was active throughout the day. The following agencies were involved:
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office – including our Volunteers in Protection (VIP) and Detention Services staff, Cottonwood Police Department, Clarkdale Police Department, Camp Verde Marshal’s Office, Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT), DPS/GITTEM, United States Marshal’s Service and U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
A total of 65 warrants were targeted – 55 misdemeanor and 10 felony cases. The effort resulted in 12 misdemeanor arrests and 3 felony arrests. In one case, the warrant subject was not home but his wife took the information. After notifying her husband, he went to court the following day, set up a payment plan for the fine and the warrant was quashed. The remaining warrant subjects were booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center.
The efficiency of the operation was enhanced by the combined efforts of the detention services staff and patrol volunteers (VIPs) who assisted by transporting arrestees to the jail. This allowed arrest teams to remain in the field after each arrest and move on to the next designated warrant location.
Those warrant subjects we missed are encouraged to contact the concerned court and seek resolution to your case. The alternative may be an untimely arrest during a law enforcement contact. Warrant status may be checked anytime using this link — http://apps.yavapai.us/warrantsearch/.
