Tucson Driver Dies Days After Harrison Road Collision

On April 9, 2016, at 10:18 p.m., Tucson Police officers responded to a serious injury collision at South Harrison Road and East Pikes Peak Drive. On April 15, 2016, Matthew Christ died from the injuries he received during the collision.

Mr. Christ had been receiving medical treatment since the incident.

According to police, on April 9, officers located two vehicles involved in the collision. Shortly after arrival, the adult female driver of a 2012 Ford Mustang was pronounced deceased on scene. The adult male driver of a 2016 Nissan Altima, Matthew Christ, was immediately transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

Tucson Police Traffic Investigators were able to determine that the Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on South Harrison Road at a high rate of speed. As the vehicle was crossing East Pikes Peak Drive, it collided with the driver’s side of the Ford Mustang, which was headed eastbound across South Harrison Road.
