Electric and gas companies will present their summer preparedness plans before the Arizona Corporation Commission on Thursday April 28th at 10:00 a.m.
Arizona Public Service Electric Company (APS), Salt River Project (SRP), Arizona G & T Cooperatives, Transwestern Pipeline Company, and El Paso Natural Gas will all participate. The companies must show their ability to handle customers’ needs for the season along with their contingency and communications plan in the event of an outage.
Last year, APS reported having the highest number of weather related outages in a five year period. The company will share its progress on several transmission projects that will be completed by June 1.
The workshop is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Arizona Corporation Commission at 1200 W. Washington, Phoenix AZ. It can be viewed live at azcc.gov.
