Phoenix Woman Arrested With 452 Pounds of Pot

Early in the morning of April 27, PCSO assisted US Border Patrol with the arrest of a 34-year-old Phoenix woman for smuggling 452 pounds of marijuana.

Border Patrol Agents had run across a 2009 Toyota SUV on a dirt road near milepost 154 of Interstate 8. Three persons ran from the vehicle which was found to contain 25 bundles of marijuana. One of the fleeing suspects, CANDI LOPEZ, was taken into custody and the other two males escaped into the desert.

LOPEZ was booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center and is awaiting charges for three felonies; Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana for Sale, and Transporting Marijuana.
