On the afternoon of May 3, 2016, investigators from the Tucson Police Department’s Special Investigations Division worked in partnership with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and the Arizona Attorney General’s Of to serve multiple warrants. The warrants were obtained following a criminal investigation centered on illegal prostitution and financial crimes.
In October of 2015, the Tucson Police Department received information about individuals possibly involved in the business of illegal prostitution. Investigators began following up on that information, which eventually led them to a business (Tui-Na Massage) at 2840 West Ina Road. Detectives were able to determine that multiple women were working at that location and were performing sexual acts for money. The investigation revealed the owners of the business were aware of what was taking place and were receiving a portion of the money received.
The owners of the business have been identified as 69-year-old Charles Krause and 61-year-old Wenjuan Krause. Both individuals were booked into the Pima County Jail on one count each of Money Laundering, Receiving Earnings of a Prostitute and Running a House of Prostitution.
Search warrants were served at the business, the owner’s home in the 1500 block of West Periwinkle Place and an additional residence associated with the owners in the 3400 block of West Bardot Street. The Oro Valley Police Department assisted during the service of the warrants. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges/arrests are pending.
