On April 28 at about 5:55 p.m., A PCSO deputy on patrol south of Arizona City noticed a white Jeep SUV travelling at a high rate of speed on Toltec Road.
Sheriff Babeu said, “Upon catching up to the vehicle, the deputy initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle pulled over on Toltec Road south of Pretzer Road. The deputy contacted the driver, who remained seated in the vehicle. While talking to the driver, the deputy noticed bundles of what he recognized as marijuana in the back of the vehicle. The deputy immediately took the driver into custody and seized the bundles of marijuana.”
The driver did not have identification on him, but was later identified as Heriberto Hernandez, a 17-year-old Phoenix resident. Hernandez was arrested and the marijuana was recovered from the vehicle. 20 bundles of marijuana were seized with a total weight of 442 pounds. Hernandez was booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center and is awaiting charges for three felonies; Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana for Sale, and Transporting Marijuana.
