The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors appointed Joy Rich as the new County Manager. Rich has been with the county since 1997 as a planning manager before filling the role of Planning and Development Director in 1998.
Rich has served as Deputy County Manager since 2012.
Rich is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and Arizona City/County Management Association among many other professional organizations. She has been recognized as Woman of the Year (2014) by the Arizona Rock Products Association and Local Official of the Year (2004) by the National Association of Homebuilders.
Rich has lived and worked in Arizona since college. She currently lives in Scottsdale with her husband and children. Her first day as county manager will be May 30.
