Casa Grande Community Services Director To Retire

Community Services Director, Bill Schwind has announced his retirement from the City of Casa Grande effective July 15, 2016. Schwind originally joined the City in 1984 where he worked as a Recreation Program Manager for five years, and returned in 2012 when he accepted the position of Community Services Director.

During his cumulative 11 year tenure in Casa Grande, Schwind oversaw the trail development at Casa Grande Mountain Park, the expansion and renovation of the Casa Grande Main Library, and the completion of the Carr McNatt Park Master Plan, which included turf enhancements, walking paths, and sports/court field renovations. Schwind is a Certified Public Manager and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of the Casa Grande Valley.

“Bill has displayed an unrivaled passion and energy for improving the recreation and community services in Casa Grande,” said City Manager, Jim Thompson. “We thank Bill for his years of commitment and service to our organization, and know that his contributions will continue to be enjoyed by our residents long after his departure.”
