Tucson Pedestrian Killed In Prince Road Collision

On June 4, 2016, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Tucson Police officers responded to the area of 2020 East Prince Road for a report of a pedestrian, 50-year-old Michael Gary Edminster, struck by a vehicle. Tucson Fire was on scene and immediately transported the pedestrian to Banner University Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

Tucson Police Traffic Detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation. They were able to determine that a 2001 BMW SUV was traveling westbound in the 2000 block of East Prince Road. The pedestrian involved ran across the roadway from south to north and was struck by the BMW. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.

On June 16, 2016, Mr. Edminsterthe passed away due to injuries sustained from the collision.

Neither speed nor impairments appear to be factors in the collision. No citations will be issue
