TFD Answers Alarm For Mobile Home Fire

At 3:30 am a fire was reported that destroyed a mobile home in the 1000 block of West Prince early Thursday with two residents escaping after being awakened by smoke alarms.

One of the residents called 9-1-1 reporting that their house was on fire after being awakened by a smoke alarm with multiple calls coming into 9-1-1 shortly thereafter.

The responding TFD units could see a large amount of smoke in the area as they approached the scene. The first units arrived on scene and estimated the trailer to be roughly 50 percent involved in flames.

Firefighters immediately pulled hose lines to the trailer and began extinguishing the flames. Additional units on scene pulled back-up lines to protect the trailers on both sides of the involved home as well. The crews were able to extinguish the fire before it could spread, containing it to one mobile home.

Tucson Fire Department reports nine units and twenty-three firefighters were dispatched to the scene and the fire was under control twelve minutes after they arrived. There were no injuries to firefighters.

The two residents, a 58 year-old male, and 54 year-old female were displaced due to the damage.

Red Crossresponded to the scene to assist the residents. Fire investigators were on scene and working to determine the cause and origin of the fire, which at this time is unknown.
