Update Pilot Has Life Threatening Injuries From Waddell Crash

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has identified the pilot in yesterday’s helicopter crash as 45 year old Rick Sexton from Payson. His condition has been upgraded to non-life threatening.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a downed helicopter in Waddell near the intersection of Olive/Sarival. The helicopter is being described as a ‘crop-dusting’ helicopter.

The pilot was the sole occupant and was transported with what have been described by medics as a Life-Threatening injury.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a small aircraft ( helicopter ) down in the area of Olive Avenue and Sarival Road less than a mile north of Luke AFB Just east of the loop 303 freeway. The helicopter is being described as a ‘crop-dusting’ helicopter. There are no other details at this time.
