On July 16, 2016, at approximately 5:00 a.m., Pima County deputies responded to the report of a sexual assault of an Uber driver. The female driver told deputies she was sexually assaulted by a male customer, Chris Thomas Gomez, whom she picked up in the 2700 block of West Avenida Azhar.
The victim stated she was sexually assaulted after they reached his destination, near the 7000 block of East Sunrise Drive. Sex Crimes Unit detectives were able to identify the suspect as the 31-year-old Gomez.
Detectives met with Gomez Wednesday and charged him with one count of Sexual Assault. He was subsequently booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.
