Salvation Army Deploys Hydration, Cooling Centers Today

The Salvation Army will deploy 12 Hydration Stations and Cooling Centers,  Friday, July 22,  in response to the extreme heat warning. Hydration Stations will provide chilled bottled water and safety information to individuals in or potentially in distress due to the heat.

Locations designated as a Cooling Centers will also provide refuge from the heat. Hours will vary slightly with all station open between the hours of 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.  The street locations and The Phoenix Citadel location will be open Saturday, July 23.

The Salvation Army has received many generous donations of water this summer and is not in need of bottled water. Donations of sunscreen, hats, lip balm and bandanas are needed. You can donate at your local Salvation Army or at salvationarmyphoenix.org.

SW corner 16th St. and Jefferson (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

The Salvation Army Corps Locations:

  • Glendale Corps: 6010 W. Northern Ave., Glendale (8 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
  • Sun City Corps: 17420 N. Avenue of the Arts Blvd. Surprise (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Apache Junction Corps: 605 East Broadway Road, Apache Junction (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Estrella Mountain Corps: 11 North 3rd Ave., Avondale (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
