Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a door to door hard sell strategy. Apparently
General Electric Company has contracts with contractors and subcontractors that sell their security systems, smoke alarms, led lights, etc. door to door in Arizona.
These contractors are also known as people wearing bright orange vest with the letters of “GE” on the vest. They often approach senior citizens or people that have home security systems. These contractors tactics have been reported to be extremely pushy and they attempt to lure the homeowner by saying they have a reduced package or they are signing homeowners up for “GE Power Saving Program 2016” and even a “GE Assistance Program for the Elderly” for $49 a month. Overall, these contractors/salespeople are trying to sell you products from General Electric.
Residents have also reported that if you let these salespeople in your home, they take it upon themselves to walk around your house for a quick evaluation in an attempt to sell you a package of products.
Mohave County Sheriff’s Office personnel does not recommend allowing strangers into your residence.
