The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Chintan Shah, age 24, who went missing Sunday afternoon near the Fireman’s Cove area of Lake Pleasant.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that a group of medical students rented a boat. At approximately 3:30 p.m. members of the group noticed that Shah had disappeared.
Shah was not wearing a life jacket. Rescue crews stopped searching at sunset. The search will resume Tuesday morning. They are also searching for him in the area of Pipeline and Yavapai Island, using a remote Sonar and when necessary their (R.O.V) robot.
Deputies do not believe that alcohol was involved.
