On September 1, 2016 the Sierra Vista Police Department arrested 23 year old Artavius Davis for charges of Possession of Drugs, Theft, and Criminal Damage.
After review of the SVPD case and current Sheriff’s Office cases, this subject was also charged in two seperate Burglaries which occurred in the Rancho Carmelo area in Sierra Vista over the past few weeks.
Burglaries that occurred in the Sierra Vista area:
- There were two day-time burglaries in the Mountain Shadows (MS) area last week.
- The MS burglaries occurred “off Kachina” and on Paiute Way.
Additional information:
- The burglars are going in through the back of homes—-picking homes with backyards that are difficult to see into.
- They are picking homes that are unoccupied. Either the residents are working or at school or on vacation. Be vigilant and keep your doors locked—they could mistaken your home as being unoccupied while you are there.
- They are taking items that are easy to carry…guns, cash, jewelry.
- There appears to be at least three suspects, two males and one female, but this information has not been confirmed.
If anyone has information regarding these Burglaries or who have knowledge of Davis’ activities, please call the Sheriff’s Office at 432-9500.
Sheriff Dannels says, please stay vigilant and be aware of your surroundings.
