On Saturday, at approximately 5:15 a.m., Pima County deputies responded to the 7000 block of South Westover Avenue for a report of a fight.
While responding to the area, deputies were advised that two men had been fighting, several gunshots had been heard, and a vehicle had fled the area. As deputies neared the area, they found the vehicle that was seen driving away from the incident location.
Deputies stopped the vehicle and immediately noticed evidence of a shooting. A female driver was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained during the shooting and two male passengers were detained for questioning. Robbery/Assault detectives responded and took over the investigation.
Through their investigation, they found 26-year-old Stephen Romero-Valencia and 23-year-old Andrew Valencia were involved in the shooting. Both men were arrested for drive by shooting, discharging a firearm at a residence, and aggravated assault, all felony charges.
